Whether you are flying or driving, most clients arrive into Saskatoon on Saturday prior to the hunt, and rent a room for the evening. On Sunday, we will pick you up at your hotel at 11AM to start the 2.5 hour drive north to Chitek Lake, where we have a modern lodge with all the comforts of home. This gives our clients a chance to sight in their weapon and relax before the excitement begins! All hunts are 5 1/2 days in duration.
Each morning starts with a hearty breakfast prepared for you by our camp cook. After breakfast you will bag your own lunch which will include hot chili or soup, sandwiches, assorted snacks, baked goods, pop, juice, water, as well as your choice of a thermos full of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Next, it’s off to the field with one of our knowledgeable guides. Your guide will take you by pick-up truck and/or quad to your strategically located, enclosed (and heated if you choose) blind. To ensure the best chances for our clients, we always use the highest quality feed available for our baits and a baiting regime that starts 6 to 12 weeks prior to the first day of the regular season (baiting is permitted by law in the province of Saskatchewan). While on stand you can remain in contact with your guide with the aid of a cellular telephone or 2 way radio. This helps ensure the safety and convenience of NSWHunts clients.
After hunting all day your guide will pick you up 30 minutes after sunset and return you to the lodge for a hearty home-cooked meal and great conversation around the dinner table. Then, its time to relax, turn on your favorite sports channel and kick back with a cold beverage.
Once the hunt is over and you’ve harvested your game, you can tour the area with one of the guides or relax back at the lodge around the campfire. Saturday the shuttle leaves back to Saskatoon at 3 PM. The guides will have your trophy boxed and ready for transport. Most of our clients fly out early Sunday morning so they have an evening to enjoy in Saskatoon at one of our fine restaurants or lounges.
