Shed hunting provides an exciting way to engage with nature searching for antlers that have been shed by deer, elk, moose, and other antler-bearing animals.
Our shed hunts are a minimum of 3 days up to a maximum of 5 days and run all day. A typical day for whitetail deer shed hunting would be 2 to 15 sheds per day, per hunter.
Hunting is done primarily in heavily populated areas with plenty of whitetail deer and moose. You can expect to find a handful of Pope and Young quality antlers with many of the people finding sheds scoring over 75-80 inches or better.
For shed hunting our guides pre-scout the areas where the whitetail dear yard up for the hard winters, which in turn proves to be the best shedding grounds for the spring.
The best times for shed hunting vary, depending on the severity of the winter and how much snow we have. Over the years the best times are in early February to the end of April.
It’s great exercise and a nice time to be in the woods! Its also a great scouting tool for the whitetail deer hunter who is hunting with us in the fall.
All of our shed hunts include room and board, plus if you bring your kids to experience this adventure, discounts are available. Please inquire upon booking your shed hunting experience.
